About Us

   What is Cru?

Cru is a University of Northern Colorado student organization which believes true life is found in a relationship with Christ and we want everyone to be able to experience it. We hope to provide each and every UNC student with an environment to investigate God, explore the idea of having a personal relationship with Him, and grow in that relationship.

Hurricane Harvey Relief Trip

What are we about?

You’ll spend 4 years ( or 7?) of your life in college … incredible friendships, crazy adventures, freedom…it’s awesome! We believe that life is all about relationships. We were created with a burning desire to be connected to others: to know others and be known by others, yet still loved.

We believe that all those longings for the ultimate life can be found in a living breathing relationship with Jesus Christ. We exist to connect students with Jesus and each other! At Cru, we want to be a place where you can really pursue God no matter what your life looks like right now. We want Cru to be a safe place to ask tough questions and get honest answers… even if the answer is “I don’t know”. In contrast to popular belief, we don’t all think we know the answer to every question, but we will be willing to look into it with you. We believe Jesus is who He said He was, and His death and resurrection over 2,000 years ago changed everything! Because of this, we want to give every student and faculty on campus the opportunity to really know Him and to experience life as it was meant to be lived: alongside Him. We believe as a person experiences God’s unconditional love and transformation, then he or she will want to tell those they care for about this incredible gift. You can leave knowing this one thing… we really love Jesus and can’t help talking about Him, which is what we are all about!

Our Staff Team

Josh and Julie Baker

Josh grew up in Lafayette, CO where he went to Centaurus High School before leaving for the University of Illinois to play baseball and study biology.  Julie grew up in the Chicago, IL area and also went to the University of Illinois to study kinesiology.  They both encountered Jesus in life changing ways through Cru while at U of I, and separately decided they wanted to spend the rest of their lives helping every college student on earth have an opportunity to experience God’s love for them through a personal relationship with Jesus.  They met while serving with Cru at U of I, got married, and served with Cru at Michigan State University for 6 years – including 1 year abroad in the Middle East – before moving back to CO to lead Cru at UNC in 2014.  They are excited to see what God has in store for them and for UNC in this next phase of life. They have 3 girls: Ellie, Zoe & Sophie, love hiking & camping, anything outside, exercising, international food, and fresh-roasted coffee.  josh.baker@cru.org

Brett and Darci Hullah

Brett is from Missouri and Wisconsin. He surrendered his life to Jesus in high school during a youth group rafting trip. He got involved with Cru at Missouri State University where he majored in Recreation and minored in Business. After graduating, he joined Cru staff in 2004. Darci, who is originally from Iowa, also attended Missouri State for Elementary and Middle School Education. She surrendered her life to Christ during the first week of classes of her freshman year. After a year as a teacher, the Lord called her to Cru staff (and to Brett), and in 2005 they were married. They were first in Denver where they served at multiple campuses throughout the city. In 2010, they moved to Greeley, and they have loved the city and working with students at UNC! They have 3 boys: Luke, Levi, and Judah. As a family, they enjoy watching movies, camping, desserts, and living life with students. Brett loves doing things in the outdoors including mountain biking, rock climbing, Jeeping, snowboarding, and hiking 14ers. Darci loves photography, trying new recipes, volunteering at the boys’ school, and spending time in Glenmere Park.  brett.hullah@cru.org  darci.hullah@cru.org

Marissa Rosenhahn

Marissa is a Colorado native!  She grew up in Highlands Ranch and then attend the University of Northern Colorado getting a degree in communication studies.  During her time at UNC Marissa learned what it looked like to grow in her relationship with God through her involvement in Cru!  After she graduated in 2008, Marissa lived in East Asia for a year investing in the lives of college students.  She then spent a couple of years serving at the University of New Mexico before returning to UNC in 2012!  Marissa loves coffee, enjoys adventure, traveling, snowboarding, longboarding, and shopping.  marissa.rosenhahn@cru.org

Alli Rust

Alli grew up at the end of a dirt road in Idaho, moving to Greeley, CO in the fall of 2017. Each summer you could find her milking goats, tending a garden, throwing hay bales and playing with baby animals. In the winter she enjoys skiing, sledding behind horses and snowshoeing. She loves spending time with people, especially if it involves conversation, cooking or sports. She has tasted and seen the goodness of God and it is her desire that others too may experience the fullness that God has to offer. During her relatively short time in CO, she has grown to love the state and is so grateful for the people and places that make it home.
